Why do I need “nonviolent” communication? I’m nice!
Most of us don’t think of ourselves as violent. We don’t get into fights or yell at people all day. And yet, many of us experience feeling stuck, misunderstood, defensive, and disconnected in difficult conversations.
What if communication could be less about who’s right and who’s wrong, and more about how we can understand one another, grow a sense of trust and connection, and find joyful ways to move forward together?
Join us for this fun, hands-on, experiential workshop, where we offer you an introduction to Nonviolent Communication (NVC), a simple yet powerful approach developed by Marshall Rosenberg that supports deeper connection with ourselves and others.
Through discussions, demonstrations, reflection, and hands-on practice, we’ll explore how to move beyond blame, defensiveness, and polarization and toward greater understanding and connection.
What to Expect
Through interactive learning, group processes, reflection, and practical examples for skill-building, participants can expect to:
- Understand the heart and core intention behind Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
- Learn how to self-connect even in challenging moments
- Explore what it means to disagree without disconnecting, and how conflict can truly be a window to deeper understanding
- Practice looking beneath our judgments, labels, and positions to arrive at shared human needs
- Engage with simple tools for communication, connection, and transforming conflict
This workshop is open to all. Bring your friends, spouse, young adult children (12+), parents, or anyone you’d enjoy exploring these ideas with.

Workshop Fees
This workshop offered on a sliding scale, to support needs for accessibility and inclusion as well as sustainability.
- Contributor – INR 1500: Covers costs and contributes to others being able to attend the workshop.
- Regular – INR 1200: Covers the basic workshop costing, including a small honorarium for trainers.
- Supported – INR 900: Covers costs only, for students and anyone who needs additional support to attend.
