At this camp, we use the word “family” in the fullest, most expansive sense of the word. We welcome families of all shapes, sizes, and structures, as well as campers of all ages.
You do not need to be a particular kind of family, or play a specific kind of role within a family, to belong here. Some families come with multiple generations; some families are nuclear; some families are friends who come together for lifelong connection; some families may consist of a single adult. This camp is for everyone.

The camp welcomes all folks who are:
- Families of all compositions, biological or otherwise
- Nuclear families, parents and children of any age*
- Single parents and their children
- Adult children and their parents
- Blended and step-families
- Chosen family, i.e. friends who are family
- Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and the wider family system
- Partners, couples and single/solo who are exploring what family means to them
- Individuals (solo participants) who belong to the larger human family
- Families of all orientations and gender identities
- Differently-abled family members*
*please see below
What we hope you will bring is your curiosity, your willingness to learn, flow, and play, and an openness to what becomes possible when everyone’s needs matter.
Still asking if this is for you?
You do not need prior experience with NVC or any other practice to be welcomed to this space. Some folks may bring deep experience with Nonviolent Communication; some could be totally new to it.
This camp is for you if you are longing to:
- Connect deeply and build trust and harmony
- Be at home with yourself and with your family
- Navigate conflict and big emotions with compassion for all
- Transform the icky, sticky places of disconnection
- Manage different ages, stages, and changing family dynamics
- Find ways to include everyone’s needs and autonomy
- Live compassion and nonviolence as an everyday practice
- Build resilience, empathy, and connection in an increasingly polarized world
- Play in community and show up with love and presence
